No prompt for wifi password

My iPad2 (IOS 5.0.1)is not prompting me to enter a password for a Wi-Fi network.  I have a new Netgear N600 wireless router installed.  The iPad can find the network, but it never prompts for password.  I am seeing the same issue on my iPhone 4
